USA Defenders of Greyhounds does ask a modest fee for the adoption of your new pet.  However, the costs to rescue these wonderful animals far exceeds the income from these fees.  Only through generous donations from people like you can USA D.O.G. continue our important work.

USA Defenders of Greyhounds is a 501(c)(3) organization, so your contribution is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.  Because we are an all volunteer organization, all donations are used to help these wonderful greyhounds.  Not only are funds used for routine spaying and neutering, vaccinations and teeth cleaning in preparation for adoption, but also to heal the very needy greyhounds that we rescue.  We have spent countless dollars on broken limbs, severe bacterial infections - anything that is necessary to make a dog as happy and healthy as possible.  We rescue old and sick greyhounds from pounds and shelters - we believe that this is what a rescue organization does.  There are transportation costs,, phone charges, office supplies, postage - a virtual host of little odds and ends that are needed to make sure we can keep rescuing greyhounds and educating the public about their plight.
